FAQS

Q: I like the positions of the Green Party, but I feel I should vote for a major party candidate with a better chance of winning.  Why should I vote Green instead?

A: The lesser of two evils is still evil. If you vote for one of the major parties even if you disagree with their positions, they have no reason to change their positions - they already have your vote.  If Greens start getting more votes, the major parties will start to adopt Green positions, or else the Greens will become bigger and stronger.

Q: Isn't everything already going Green?  There are green jobs, green buildings, green technology - haven't you already achieved success?

A: Not by a long ways.  Despite widespread acceptance of the need for sounder environmental policies, there is still strong, if short-sighted, opposition.   And much of what is called "green" is just marketing puffery. The reality is that California's policies can be and must be much greener.

Q: If you get elected, could you actually deliver anything, given the power of the major parties?

A: Yes.  The position of Attorney General, as the head of an independent agency with a large amount of discretion, is far less dependent upon the cooperation of major party politicians than a legislator would be.  A Green Attorney General would make a real difference.
